I can’t believe nowadays a Mexican girl can’t make a simple pot of beans! Where are there elders! This is a family staple dang it!

You just need a crock pot and they cook themselves. Once you make them you can make wonderful things from them. We make a pot of beans about every week. Different every time. Its a staple in my daughters vegan diet. For instance a few suggestions below, the ideas are endless.

Red beans and rice

Italian white beans, can be made into Asian hummus.

Garbanzos, used in hummus, mock tuna salad, and added to regular salads and falafel.

Black beans can be made into black bean burgers and black bean tacos, and black bean dip.

Lentils into cold stew or lentil Dal with curry.

Lima’s into succotash with corn and squash.

Butter beans and potato salad with red wine vinaigrette.

Beans are so healthy! And a great meat replacement.

Most beans contain only 2-3% fat. Beans are the perfect food for a fat-restricted diet.
You may never have to count calories again.

Beans contain no cholesterol, and they can help lower your cholesterol level because they are one of the richest sources of fiber! And as we know a high fiber diet lowers cholesterol.

Most beans contain at least 20% protein and are high in complex carbohydrates which provides long lasting energy.

In addition, beans provide essential B Vitamins and Iron.

Adding beans to your daily meals insures total nutrition, and with our wide selection of beans you should be able to find the right bean flavor for you. I try to introduce myself to as many varieties as I can and right now I am toying with butter beans and I’ve heard cow peas (black eyed peas) are incredible fresh off the vine so I decided to grow some in my garden this year.

Gimmie a bean and tell you how to cook it. How hard can it be? Thats what a crock pots for!
